The Monstrumologist Giveaway The Curse of the Wendigo Giveaway

THE MONSTRUMOLOGIST
These are the secrets I have kept. This is the trust I never betrayed. But he is dead now and has been for nearly ninety years, the one who gave me his trust, the one for whom I kept these secrets. The one who saved me . . . and the one who cursed me.

So starts the diary of Will Henry, orphan and assistant to a doctor with a most unusual specialty: monster hunting. In the short time he has lived with the doctor, Will has grown accustomed to his late night callers and dangerous business. But when one visitor comes with the body of a young girl and the monster that was eating her, Will's world is about to change forever. The doctor has discovered a baby Anthropophagus—a headless monster that feeds through a mouth in its chest—and it signals a growing number of Anthropophagi. Now, Will and the doctor must face the horror threatening to overtake and consume our world before it is too late.

Read the First Chapter.

THE CURSE OF THE WENDIGO
While attempting to disprove that Homo vampiris, the vampire, could exist, Dr. Warthrop is asked by his former fiancé to rescue her husband from the Wendigo, a creature that starves even as it gorges itself on human flesh, which has snatched him in the Canadian wilderness. Although Warthrop also considers the Wendigo to be fictitious, he relents and rescues her husband from death and starvation, and then sees the man transform into a Wendigo. Can the doctor and Will Henry hunt down the ultimate predator, who, like the legendary vampire, is neither living nor dead, whose hunger for human flesh is never satisfied? This second book in The Monstrumologist series explores the line between myth and reality, love and hate, genius and madness.

I was - and am still kinda (sadly) terrified of the movie Pet Semetary - and when i was younger i was terrified that that baby (Gage) or that scary looking woman with Spinal Meningitis (sp?) were under my bed or in my closet or something so i would be awake terrified all night!

  39. I wasn't afraid of any fictional monsters as a child. But I was afraid of bugs (mainly spiders) as my childhood room was in the basement and I would frequently find spiders in my bed. Over time I grew less afraid of them though :)

  40. I was so terrified that something was hiding under my bed. I don't think I called it the boogie monster or anything like that, I just always made sure that my stuffed animals and myself didn't end up going over the end of the bed, or else something would get us. It is a little embarrassing, but once I turned 18 and moved out of the house I put my mattress on the floor (where I've kept it ever since), so now there is no room under my bed for monsters! LOL

Ok, don't laugh, it was one of the creatures from the movie Critters, one of those spiney hairballs with sharp teeth. *sigh* I utterly loved that movie and it didn't scare me, so this sort of confused me for most of my childhood why I would be scared there was one lurking in the room with me. Ok, somtimes I feel certifiable! LOL

  102. It was whatever I dreamed up at the time. I remember jumping from my bed to the door all the time, so I didn't have to tiptoe past the closet or get eaten by monsters under the bed, until one time I missed and slammed right into the door frame and almost knocked myself out. My mom put an end to the jumping after that. That is until I discovered the 'Queen of Scots' rhyme in my mirror. I almost ran out of places to walk at night in my room.

  103. I have this long-running joke about this (or saying, really). It's that 'ordinary' children are afraid of hairy monsters and bogeymen in their closets. Nerd children (such as myself) are postive that Darth Mal is hiding in their closets and Lord Voldemort (in his semi-returned form) is lurking under the bed. Seriously, I was *really* bad about that whole 'there's something in my room!' thing when I was younger. I watched too many scary movies. :)
