Teaser Tuesday: My Soul to Take

Teaser TuesdayTeaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  4. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  5. Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Soul to Lose by Rachel Vincent

An eBook exclusive prequel to Rachel Vincent's SOUL SCREAMERS series.

    My Teaser:

"How you holding up, hon?" he asked, when I finally pulled back far enough to see his face, rough with evening stubble.

"If I'm not crazy yet, I will be after one more day in this place. You have to take me home. Please."

My aunt and uncle exchanged a dark glance, and my stomach seemed to settle somewhere, around my knees. "What?"

"Let's sit." Aunt Val's heels clacked all the way into the common area, where she glanced around an dlooked like she wanted to take her suggestion back. Several other patients sat staring up at teh TV, most with glazed looks of half-comprehension. Two more worked on puzzles, and one thin boy I'd hardly seen was arguing with his parents in teh far corner.

    My Thoughts:

I decided to do this meme, because this book was very much a teaser. It was a Kindle preview for the book My Soul to Take. A little gift from Amazon to suck you into the story of Kaylee Cavanaugh and her interesting problem. Kaylee on what should be just another day at the mall has what she believes to be a panic attack - a panic attack that has her trying to rip her own throat out because she can't stop screaming. Nothing will stop the screaming, nothing that is, except a couple cc's of Haldol...and a pshchiatric unit.

    Is she crazy?

That is the question of the entire book - which the entirety is spent in the nutty floor of the local hospital. You would think this book would be a bit on the itchy, don't want to go there side, but it wasn't it was great. Kaylee was a great tragic heroine and her "condition" had you guessing what was possibly wrong the entire time. If you have a kindle, go download this book, it's free - I enjoyed it and now I want to buy My Soul to Take. Good marketing Amazon.com.

    Download HERE for your Kindle.

I have heard that some people like this book, but I have not really heard what the book is about. This teaser really makes me curious, it kind of opens up the door to what it may be about. I do look forward to your review, I think I may have to add this one to my list.

If you would like to stop by I have my teaser up. http://melissa-melsworld.blogspot.com/

Secrets In The Attic by V.C. Andrews

    “Why were you alone?”

She laughed as if I asked the silliest question.

Hum... I had been avoiding this new release for some reason - but as someone in the marketing field I think you have just argued just cause for further exploration - ;)

My teaser is up as well - and very straightfoward.
