Num8ers by Rachel Ward Giveaway!

Today PJV spotlights, Num8ers by Rachel Ward and is hosting a giveaway to win a copy of this YA novel.

Numbers
Since her mother’s death, fifteen-year-old Jem has kept a secret. When her eyes meet someone else’s, a number pops into her head - the date on which they will die. Knowing that nothing lasts forever, Jem avoids relationships, but when she meets a boy called Spider, and they plan a day out together, her life takes a new twist and turn. Waiting for the London Eye, she sees everyone in the queue has the same number - something terrible is going to happen.

Ward's debut novel, published in 2009 is making waves throughout the literary community.  Numbers has been nominated and is the running for numerous awards including (but not limited to..LOL) the Carnegie MedalUKLA Children’s Book Award, the Angus Book Award and the Southern Schools Book Award.

Thanks for the contest!

I used to like the UK cover better than the US, but now I think the US cover has grown on me.

I like the US cover best, for sure! The UK cover looks kind of 80's to me, not that that's bad, just not my taste.

This sounds like a great book. I have seen these giveaways all over blogland but this is the first I see open to Canadians.thanks.
I like the US cover better.

I like the US cover better. UK's cover has nice colors, though.

Sorry, I just read the twitter directions for tweeting about the contest. Here's my new, correct tweet: http://twitter.com/Door2Wonderland/status/10288296129

Thanks, and sorry for the confusion! I'm terrible at reading directions! lol

Looks like a great read.

I like the US cover better: much simpler and more streamlined, and the red's very effective.

Nice contest. And, while both covers are nice, I prefer the US cover.

I prefer the US cover. I like the coloring and the red eye.

I would have to say the US cover is my favorite, but the UK cover is rather intriguing as well.

I very much prefer the US version of the cover. I think the red eye is quite an eye catching contrast to the white/gray.

I actually like the UK cover better. It catches your eye! I also am entering:)

I like the UK cover better. Even though it has a simple white background, I like that there's a picture in the text of the title.

I follow on google friend connect.

I like the UK cover better - the red eye thing kinda creeps me out ;)

Both are pretty nifty covers, but the US is more memorable, for sure. And (no pun intended, honestly) there's more visual interest in the US cover. Certainly not forgettable.

I like the US cover better. It conveys the storyline better.

Ah! I honestly like both...but if I had to really pick, I'd choose the UK better. More colours are nice :)

I like the US cover. The other one looks dated like something from the '60s.

I like the US cover better. The UK one is just too much

I like the vibrant colors and the arrangement of the font on the UK cover. The US has nifty numbers but I always prefer colors. :D

I really like the US cover a bit more,

Thanks for the giveaway! :)

I like the US cover better. The UK cover looks like a retro movie poster and so wouldn't catch my eye in a bookstore.

Lena1xoxo said...

The US cover definitely. It's more mysterious. The UK one looks like an old horror flick. :P

I prefer the US cover much more, it is way scarier!! (and much more sophisticated too)

I think the US cover is much better. The red eye with the black and white seems to draw your eye in more.

I like the US cover better. If the font were different on the UK cover I think it might win though.
