Maggie Stiefvater to visit New Orleans!

Too much I have LAMENTED that New Orleans is usually passed over from the literary monarchs...jumping from Houston to Atlanta with hardly a stop.  Nothing new, favorite bands of mine usually do the same. Its as if the PR people know not to let their wards travel to the City That Care Forgot, lest they might stay with a Mardi Gras hangover. We have a tendency to suck in artists and never let them leave. This is my wistful thinking of course, because I would hate to think what the truth probably is, which is a glaring fact that New Orleans has a 40% literacy rate.

Which is why I am jumping up and down like a two year old with a basketful of chocolate as I was told today that Ms. Maggie Stiefvater will be visiting New Orleans! *pause for effect* I ♥ Twitter, I get so much info that way now. (Thanks Jules!)

@Patti, terrible to hear, I hope everything is ok.

@thelittlereader - You would think everyone would want to go to Paradise! LOL, but probably an expensive trip.

I was just glad to pass the information..because I know you felt like your city gets missed...so agree ...no authors really visit my area...its SF or the bay area. Have fun and be a fan girl.

Oh I am SO jealous.

Don't feel bad...Orlando is normally skipped over too. I feel like the Atlanta is the furthest south they go.

Wow, I'm impressed as well. If I'm not working I would love to go!

OH wow Para, did not realize you were in New Orleans!!! I am only a hop skip and jump away from you guys!

**Patti** our little group is getting a little bigger!!!

How come is it we think they do go to all those places mentioned above... but it does seem we get left out the loop. And they wonder why we have such fan girl moments... they never come!
Thanks for putting this out there!!

Have fun all !

I wish I could go! I live in Texas so that'll probably be the closest she will get to me.. I'm going to try to convince my husband, see if we can take a road trip over there. =)

I want to go! I need to see if the hubby can get the day off or if one of my friends can either babysit or feel up to taking a little road trip with me :)
