Today PJV spotlights, Master of None by Sonya Bateman and is hosting a giveaway to win a copy of this gritty Urban Fantasy novel.
Gavyn Donatti is the world’s unluckiest thief...
Just ask all the partners he’s lost over the years. And when
he loses an irreplaceable item that he was hired to steal for
his ruthless employer, Trevor—well, his latest bungle just
might be his last. But then his luck finally turns: right when
Trevor’s thugs have Donatti cornered, a djinn, otherwise
known as a genie, appears to save him.
Unfortunately, this genie—who goes by the very non-magical
name of “Ian”—is more Hellboy than dream girl. An
overgrown and extremely surly man who seems to hate
Donatti on the spot, he may call Donatti master, but he isn’t
interested in granting three wishes. He informs Donatti that
he is bound to help the thief fulfill his life’s purpose, and then
he will be free. The problem is that neither Donatti nor Ian
has any idea what exactly that purpose is.
At first Donatti’s too concerned with his own survival to look
a gift genie in the mouth, but when his ex-girlfriend Jazz and
her young son get drawn into the crossfire, the stakes
skyrocket. And when Ian reveals that he has an agenda of his
own—with both Donatti and the murderous Trevor at the
center of it—Donatti will have to become the man he never
knew he could be—or the entire world could pay the price...

Heck ya I'd be angry. What would be the point of having him around if he didn't grant wishes or is a jerk? I have enough angry people around me I don't need another one thank you very much.

I'd definitely be angry. I mean, I don't want a djinn, wish-granting or not, so why would I want one that follows me around & criticizes me? That's what my internal editor is for, right? ; )
I would definitely be angry. What is the point of having a genie if he won't grant wishes.
Nope, I wouldn't be angry. It is widely known that any wish granted by a genie does not go as expected and usually is harmful. The attitude, however, would get to me. :P
Darned right I'd be angry and want to send that good for nothing genie away!! I want wishes granted if I have a genie.
I would be one unhappy camper. What reason would you have to keep the guy around if no rewards?? Genie's are suppose to grant wishes, if they can't, then kick him out..lol
Sounds like the genie is my husband. But he would probably say the same thing about me. I would welcome the genie, I work alone and any attention will do ;)
sounds like a greta book
This looks good. Maybe something to tide me over to the next Harry Dresden novel.
I think I'd be more annoyed by the rude and angry part - even though it would be nice to have some wishes, it would be terrifying to figure out just how to word them so you didn't end up in worse shape than you started.
Thanks for the giveaway!
This sounds like a great read!!
Also this is a great giveaway.
Thanks
I am living with a fat angry bear currently, I don't think I'd be able to handle a sour faced genie. I'd be all like, "You'd better grant me some wishes if you want both of us to be happy, yo!"
Yes I would. No one wants to deal with that in their off time and at home.
This book sounds great! Genie's wishes never come out as you want them too so that probably would not be a problem. But the being rude and angry all the time would be a issue.
Thanks for this awesome giveaway1 It's fantastic!!

Great contest!
Thanks Shirley
What a great giveaway! I think it would be obnoxious to be saddled with anyone who was rude and had nothing to offer me,genie or not. After all, even roommates and spouses can get annoying, if they're with you constantly!

I became a new follower as sneakybea.
Thanks!
I would be angry with the genie only if he was rude and angry, but not because he didn't grant wishes.
