My Potential Vampire Challenge List

For the 2011 Vampire Challenge I have selected some potential books that I might be sampling this year. Do you want to know what I just might be reading. I say might because I am a very fickle being, almost ADD at some points. I get distracted by shiny pretty covers and set aside books that don't grab my attention from the get-go, therefor there is no guarantee in the universe that I call home.

You, too my friend can join the vampire challenge! Just click here.

This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, Book 5)#1 - This Side of the Grave (Night Huntress, #5) by  Jeaniene Frost
Releases March 2011

#2 Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning
Releases January 2011 - depending on what Barrons turns out to be will determine whether this book is available to be counted for this challenge. There are rumors that he might be a vampire, but personally I'm not a strong proponent of this particular theory.

American Vampire#3 Hard Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #4) by Chloe Neill
Releases May 2011

#4 Afterlife (Evernight, #4) by Claudia Gray
Releases Mar 2011

#5 American Vampire by Jennifer Armintrout
Releases Feb 2011

Stolen Nights (Infinite Days)
#6 Defiance (Strange Angels, #4) by Lilith Saintcrow
Releases April 2011

#7 Stolen Nights (Vampire Queen, #2) by Rebecca Maizel
Releases June 2011

#8 Vampires Not Invited: A Night Tracker Novel by Cheyenne McCray
Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, Book 6)
#9 Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead I know I know - but I'm still scared. I will read it though before...

#10 Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, Book 6) by Richelle Mead

#11 Midnight Alley (The Morganville Vampires, #3) by Rachel Caine

#12 Dracula in Love by Karen Essex

eBook selections:

In The Blood#13  In the Blood by Abigail Barnette
Releases Jan 2011

#14 Heart of Vesuvius by Sky Purington

#15 To Kill A Vampire by Julianna Sage

This list will change! I just know it. This is why I left a few open spots.

And for some fun in the sun...here are books that I've already read that are fangtaculous vampire reads for your vampire challenge endeavors. I did not list books that I haven't read, or ones that I didn't like...there are many more vampy books out there!

The Turning (Book #1), The Blood Ties Series by Jennifer Armintrout, is great. Could be a great addition, though I know there's already one Jennifer Armintrout book on here. Or perhaps on of the Love at Stake books by Kerrelyn Sparks? Just ideas :)

Wow. It looks like I'll have to look through this list and check out some of them. Looks like a lor of them I haven't read....and I know about Spirit Bound. I hadn't read it til just last week...

really? some people r debating Barrons being a vampire? First I heard that..I have heard a lot of theories of him possibly being the Selie King or something like that but I am dying to ound out wht he is...from book 1 that has been on my mind =D

Vampire?!

No! Barrons is not a vampire. He is the beast. Well, I'm not 100% on this at all, but I subscribe to the KMM newsletter and there was a teaser that said something about Barrons and the beast.

*bites nails*

Do you want the teaser? I still have it saved.

yea. Barrons is no vampire. Oh, god. I want Shadowfever so bad =D

Missie & Mariya - I don't think he is either, but there have been a few people that think he is. I'm so scared that he is the Beast. So scared. But, I'm pretty certain he might be --- but then why wouldn't the other dude, name escapes me right now, but the one that fell off the cliff, why wouldn't he have known that??? Personally I have a theory, who I think it might really turn out to be, but it's odd

Nice list! I have either read most of these, own them, or have them on my TBR list. Awesome.

I've started my list on my blog as well. Two questions.

How did you feel about I am Legend? I was surprised at how different it was from the movie. (I read it right after the movies release)

How did you like Dead Witch Walking? I tried to read it and had a god awful time. I gave it a terrible review and put it down half way. I've never, not- finished a book before. I kept feeling like nothing was being explained though I was enticed by the world and did really enjoy Ivy. I'm wondering if I should give it another go.

Don't forget the new series by Kailin Gow about vampires Pulse, Life's Blood and Blood Burned. It's about a girl who doesn't know her ex boyfriend is a vampire until the night he dies in a freak accident. Then his half brothers visit her and apparently, like most vampires, they are very hunky. I think there are two more in the series that will be out this year.

Heather in Sandwich

Still on the fence
I'm in so many challenges already

BURIED IN BOOKS said...

I'm debating on this one. I've joined so many this year. Wondering if any of the 2011 debut authors have shifters or vamps. Kailin Gow has a great series on vampires for YA first book starts with a girl having to face to brothers that are vampire brothers of her ex boyfriend who was a vampire and killed in a freak accident. She had no idea he was a vampire until he was killed.

Does manga count? if so, Rosario and Vampire, Vampire Knight and Chibi Vampire would all be good...
