PJVs QUICKIE POV:
Packed with action and intense insanity right from the beginning, Hellforged is an interesting Urban Fantasy novel, well written with a lot of thought behind the Deadtown World. I haven't read the first novel, and I feel like I really should have. But, even without reading I enjoyed this one...but will most likely go back and read Deadtown and reread Hellforged.

REVIEW:
The book(s) center around Deadtown. An area of Boston where humans separated the paranormals. The main character, Victory is a unique paranormal, called a Cerddorion. In Hellforged Vicky has saved the world just recently and is recouping, getting back in the swing of her demon hunting ways. Unfortunately she can't settle down for too long, because the demon she destroyed is now haunting her dreams. To make matters worse her loved ones are dying every time the demon manifests. She can't let any more friends die, so she leaves Deadtown to put the pieces together.

Holzner is an excellent writer, she spins a tale that had me engrossed from the start. Even in slow times the mystery behind the series had me fascinated. I enjoyed her take and her Urban Fantasy world, I can't wait to read more. The only problem I found with the novel was that it did slow down a bit and some of the side plots seemed to just tease, but you usually find this in a series...build suspense and promote reading more books, I get it. Read the books, this is what an Urban Fantasy novel should be.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Adult novel, bit of violence. I wouldn't recommend this as a transition novel, this is for Urban Fantasy fans.

I've never read an urban fantasy book, but I've got to try one to see what they're like. They have a huge fan base. And they always have a woman on the cover with a knife, sword or gun...lol...bad asses...lol
