The Paranormal Spring Break Tsunami strikes again with the illustrious Ann Aguirre, author of the Urban Fantasy Corine Solomon series. Hope ya'll are enjoying the Paranormal Spring Break so far!

PJV: In your own words can you tell us about SHADY LADY, your latest Corine Solomon book.
AA: It’s the best of the three so far, I think. Dark, dangerous, seductive. Surprises galore. I will be surprised if readers don’t love the hell out of it.
PJV: You write novels in all forms of the darker genres, urban fantasy, dystopian, science fiction, post apocalyptic, how did you decide to write in these genres? Do you enjoy a particular genre above others?
AA: I write what I love to read. And I love the one I’m with. ;)
PJV: You also have a post apocalyptic Young Adult series, RAZORLAND. How different is writing from a youths POV than an adults?
AA: For me, it’s no different because I’m always in a deep POV. I am the character, essentially. I know what they know, feel what they feel. And that process is no different whether the character is fifteen or fifty-five. Some of their emotional reactions are not the same, but that’s more of a character issue than a writing one.
PJV: SHADY LADY is from the Corrine Solomon series, an Urban Fantasy with long running potential. How many books are expected to be in the series?
AA: However many the readers want, provided I keep enjoying the world and the characters. There will be at least five, as of now. But if ever my interest wanes, I’ll wrap it up, as I won’t continue to write a series that has ceased to bring me joy.
PJV: When writing a series do you become attached to the characters?
AA: Always. Sometimes it’s more like I’m obsessed. That’s certainly the case with the YA Razorland trilogy.
PJV: Which of your characters did you enjoy writing the most?
AA: That’s a tough call. Part of me says Jax, because Grimspace was my first NY sale. And who doesn’t love her first time? But Enclave has a special place in my heart, too. Because Deuce is a remarkable character, whom I believe will linger in hearts and minds, long after readers close the pages (or turn off their e-readers). The feedback I’m getting early on certainly indicates that’s the case anyway. So why don’t we call it a tie? I love Jax and Deuce.
But I love Corine, too. As I said before, I love them all.
PJV: Have you ever thought of who you would cast as some of your main characters?
AA: Ellen Page would make an awesome Deuce. For Jax, I’d choose a relatively unknown Australian actress, Felicity Mason. She’s lovely but sharp-featured, with dark hair and haunting eyes.
PJV: Are you working on any other projects that you can tell us about?
AA: I prefer not to talk about works in progress. I do have some rather wicked ideas under the tarp, but I’m not done tinkering under the hood just yet. Check my website for news, though.

PJV: Would you rather live in an Urban Fantasy world, Dystopian or Science Fiction?
AA: None of the above. But I suppose I’d pick SF, if I had to choose. I always wanted to see the stars.
PJV: What is your best Spring Break memory?
AA: I never really had a spring break holiday that I can recall, as a student. But I’m fiercely anticipating our trip to Europe this year in April, for my kids’s Spring Break. So let’s assume it will be totally kick-ass, and go with that.

I think I'd like to live in a UF world. I know they're usually pretty dangerous, but the darker worlds are what attracts me to reading UF.
ENCLAVE is a fantastic book, Ann! I'm looking forward to more from that world, and checking out Corine's world too.

Not an entry to the giveaway, just a girly "squeee!" for the awesomeness of this interview. I so totally *heart* Ms. Aguirre. AND Parajunkee. A match made in paranormal heaven, this is. ^_^
The books sound really good. I will have to put Razorland on my TBR list, I can never have enough post apocalyptic books.

Wow, thank you for all the love. Feel free to ask questions in comments and I'll stop back by to answer.
Good interview. Any genre you'd like to try in the future that would be a departure from your current books?
Shady Lady looks like a great read. I have not read this series, but I am going to check the others out also. I really enjoyed your interview, great answers!!

Oh and also! I don't usually read the YA genre, but I am definitely making an exception for Enclave.
This is another series on my list. I'm glad I saw the interview and now know there are other books by Ann.
