Title: Aftertime

Release Date: Feb 22nd
Publisher: Luna
Purchase online

Someone once said that all apocalypses are experienced locally. In the case of Cass Dollar, the nightmare occurred with the violent abduction of two-year-old Ruthie, which she vividly remembers. Only later is young Cass assaulted also by the vague, twisting memories of a much wider conflagration that she herself only narrowly survived. A government experiment had turned the entire California landscape into the hunting grounds of zombie Beaters, but Cass can only think of the helpless toddler she is missing. A deeply arresting paperback original. Editor's recommendation.

In the city of Lovecraft, the Proctors rule and a great Engine turns below the streets, grinding any resistance to their order to dust. And for Aoife Grayson, her time is growing shorter by the day.

Aoife Grayson's family is unique, in the worst way—every one of them, including her mother and her elder brother Conrad, has gone mad on their 16th birthday. And now, a ward of the state, and one of the only female students at the School of Engines, she is trying to pretend that her fate can be different.

I'm writing all of those down. I love a good Dystopian...as for the Uglies, I like the older covers better.

Thanks for this list, can't believe I had not heard of some of these, adding them to my list now! I like the new Westerfeld covers better. Prized by Caragh O'Brien, the sequel to Birthmarked, comes out in November. It's my WoW this week and I am so excited to read it!

I definitely like the old covers better of Uglies and Pretties. Is there a new cover for Extra's? Extra's was always my favorite.

Ooh nice I haven't heard of many of these books before. Aftertime and The Iron Thorn are on my TBR as well as Pretties but the others are all new to me. The Third, Burn Bright and America-Pacifica might make their way on to my list now. They sound so good.

Uglies was a great book, I like the new covers very simple but they stand out more to me then the older covers.

Great list! I am especially interested in The Third.

Uglies: I like the old cover better. I wonder if the new cover is meant to appeal more to adults, maybe?

Ooooooh, great list! I haven't heard of some of these before so I'll be looking for them now. I've been reading a lot of dystopian novels lately although I must be the only person left who hasn't read the Uglies series. Those are on my long list too. I do like the new covers!

I LOVE the Uglies series! Bumped was also mind-blowing, and I'm dying for summer so that I have time to read The Iron Thorn. I couldn't leave the bookstore without it, and now it's taunting me.
