From (Location):  Born on Kyanos, an uncharted island in the North Atlantic, he now lives in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado with his brothers.
Significant Other:  Ordinary human girls tend to run away, screaming. The only human who could possibly be with Jax long enough to become significant is an Anabo, born without Original Sin. In the past 1,000 years, he and his brothers have found exactly one Anabo, but Jax never gives up hope that they’ll find another – and she’ll be his. In the meantime, he’s eternally an eighteen-year-old guy, so he hides what he is and hunts in dark places to get what he needs: a fleeting moment of human contact.
Signature Move:  Crushing his prey’s carotid artery until he passes out
Kill Highlights:  Jax can’t kill the lost souls because death releases their spirit to Eryx, increasing his power. We asked him to tell us what he considers a capture highlight and he said, “This isn’t f’ing Sports Center.”
Enemies:  The oldest of his six brothers, Eryx, who aims to take over Hell from Lucifer and abolish free will

Other Facts:  Jax’s father is Mephistopheles, the dark angel of death, who risked total obliteration by falling in love with an Anabo and giving her seven sons. Jax and his brothers grew up on a remote island, hidden from God and Lucifer by the mists of Kyanos. At eighteen, each of them were compelled to jump to their deaths and return as immortals, but before he jumped, the oldest, Eryx, murdered their mother, knowing the release of her soul would make God and Lucifer aware of his brothers’ existence. Eryx came back with no trace of light in his spirit and began a campaign to collect the souls of humanity. When the scales tip in his favor, he’ll have the power to take over Hell and abolish free will. To keep the remaining sons of Mephistopheles from becoming like Eryx, each was blessed by God before jumping to immortality, then charged by Lucifer to capture every human who pledged their soul to Eryx and send them to Hell on Earth, a dark pit far below the surface. They are collectively known as the Mephisto. Despite God’s blessing, they are sons of Hell, and constantly fight the lure of their dark sides. Sometimes, they lose.

We caught up to Jax, the third son, at a Lakers game in mid-December, and told him about the Supernatural Smackdown. He told us to get lost. We persevered, and this is how it went:

Us: We really want to win this Smackdown.

Jax: What do you win? A year subscription to the Jelly-of-the-Month Club?

Us: Just bragging rights.

Jax: What the hell have you got to brag about? I’m the one out there busting my ass.

Us: We heard you found an Anabo. Wanna tell us about her?

Jax, all up in our grill: It’s a lie. And if it wasn’t a lie, you’d be dead.

Us: Okay, get out of my face. What’s the big deal?

Jax: If I found an Anabo, and if anyone but the Mephisto knew she was
Anabo, Eryx could find out.

Us: Are you afraid he’d steal her from you?

Jax, again in our face: He’d f’ing kill her! He killed Phoenix’s Anabo, or had you forgotten?

Us: No, I haven’t forgotten. I won’t tell anyone, swear to God, so tell me – did you find an Anabo?

Jax: resuming watching the game: Her name is Sasha.

Us: What’s she like?

Jax: I can’t say.

Us: Why not?

Jax: What do you want from me? Some long, sappy monologue? Do I look like Shakespeare?

Us: Uhm, no. You look like a biker from Hell.

Jax: It’s impossible to describe something that beautiful…someone whose very existence is the lifeblood of hope, not just for me, but for all humanity. You go back and tell your Smackdown people that you deserve the jelly, because now that I have Sasha, there’s nothing to stop me. No limits. It’s going down.

Us: What’s going down?

Jax, giving us a look: War, and Eryx isn’t going to win.
