Feature & Follow Friday #57

Welcome to Feature & Follow Friday (err Thursday) on Parajunkee.com

If you are new to the #FF fun, Feature & Follow Friday is a blog hop that expands your blog following by a joint effort between bloggers. Feature & Follow Friday is now hosted by TWO hosts, myself of course and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it'll allow us to show off more new blogs!

How does this work? First you leave your name here on this post, then you create a post on your own blog that links back to this post (easiest way is to just grab the code under the #FF picture and put it in your post) and then you visit as many blogs as you can and tell them "hi" in their comments (on the post that has the #FF image). You follow them, they follow you. Win. Win. Just make sure to follow back if someone follows you!

Now to make this #FF interesting we do a FEATURE blogger. If you are interested in becoming a Feature click on the drop down link above FEATURES > Feature & Follow Friday and get on the waiting list!  It is also required, that if you participate you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) and the two Feature blogs.

Our Feature  - Bonnie @ Hands and Home

Above all I am a proud wife and mother who has the privilege of spending my days with my 2 beautiful daughters. Hands and Home combines my 3 passions, my family (including natural family living), creating, and of course my first ever passion, reading.

Reading is such an important part of my day and my favourite place to go with my girls is the library. I read just about anything, I enjoy reading Paranormal/Fantasy, Christian or Literary Fiction, Young Adult, Women’s Fiction (some chic lit), Cultural Fiction, Fantasy... Basically if it is well written with strong characters I will most likely love it!

Q. Talk about the book that most changed or influenced your life (was it a book that turned you from an average to avid reader, did it help you deal with a particularly difficult situation, does it bring you comfort every time you read it?).

I know this might sound silly, but I read the Madeleine L'Engle series, A WRINKLE IN TIME at a young age and it did sort of change my childhood. In the books the parents aren't always right and the children save the day, things aren't what they appear to be and the deeper meanings of the novel were apparent to me as young as I was. It was one of those eye openers...like "You are right!" Parents aren't always right...sometimes kids can make a difference. Well there went my childhood...

Now for the Follow Fun!

RULES

To join the fun and make new book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. (Required) Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Hosts {Parajunkee & Alison Can Read}
  2. (Required) Follow our Featured Bloggers - Hands & Home & www.memyshelfandi.com
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing. You can also grab the code if you would like to insert it into your posts.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say "hi" in your comments and that they are now following you.
  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
  7. If you're new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Happy Follow Friday!

Follow it up with your twitter address if you want to get that one out!

Hmm this question involved a bit of thinking, but I really enjoyed answering it!

Oh god, it's been so long since I read A Wrinkle In Time, I really should re-read it, I can't remember what it was about at all!

(My #FF post if you are interested: http://skyink.net/?p=2520) =)

Great question, took me a little while to figure out which book changed my life.

I'm fairly new to FF, it's my third week participating, and it's definitely the main reason I've got followers because I actually get my link out there :)

Hey I'm a new follower :) I never read Wrinkle myself but I've meant to ever since I saw it in the library. See you around, probably once a week I should think ;)

It's cool how children's books can have such a huge impact on our lives. The Baby-Sitters Club was really important to me. It makes me worry about kids who never read, though.

That's not a series that I've read but I can imagine it would be quite powerful for a child! Great answer and thank you again so much for inviting me to be one of the featured bloggers this week!

Hi, Rachel! I've been following Parajunkee's View for quite a while now.

This is one of the most interesting questions asked in the Hop! LOVE it!!

Madeline L'Engle is another one of those authors I am fascinated by, although I haven't read any of her books. I'm ashamed to admit that I've owned "A Wrinkle In Time" for some time, and have yet to read it... There are just SO many books I'd like to get to!

I'll definitely make this book a priority! I like books in which adults aren't always right, and childre ARE, especially since it turns out to be the case quite often in real life, as well!!

Thanks for sharing!! : )

Wrinkle In Time is one of my perennial favorites--and definitely one of the earliest fantasy books I remember reading, so a perfect introduction to your Follow Friday hop idea... which is also awesome. Thanks! :)

(Just wish I could sort out how to make the Javascript work in my WP blog...)
