Feature & Follow Friday #33

Happy Follow Friday everyone! Let me tell you a little bit about this HOP. Every friday or really Thursday evening we all get together and say HI! But, we need to know how to find you, so please your link in the Mr. Linky below. Also on Follow Friday we have a Feature...because alliteration is the way we roll. Each week is a different feature from the book blogging community. They are picked randomly or I give in after multiple harassing emails. Just depends on the week. If you want to be next weeks feature...leave your link.

One thing though. The linky for hops seems to have gone and started charging. $25.00 a year. And while I would normally just pay for it, the little cuz is getting married in March --- and I have a month filled with showers and one out of state bacholorette party at the end of this month that I'm saving all my nickles for. So...we are testing new linkys. But..I don't think this will transfer to your site, which is very different than usual. Bear with me.

Our feature this week is...

Ruby of Ruby Reads

Ruby's Reads

I’ve been an obsessive reader since I was quite small. I still remember furtively pouring over the early readers from my childhood, when I was supposed to be doing addition with exchanging. My tastes have progressed since then, though I went through all the usual reading stages for a girl of my generation (the Sweet Valley books, Nancy Drew, the Babysitter’s Club). One thing has remained constant: I like my books with a touch of romance in them. It can be as subtle as a hint that two characters in a children’s book will grow up and marry, but it has to be there. “Anything with a smidge of romance” is my reading philosophy, but of late, I’m focused on Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Teen/YA fiction. Though, I’ve been hankering after some good ole’ Romantic Suspense since reading Pamela Clare’s Naked Edge. But, seriously, if I tripped over a book that was lying in the street, I’d probably remain on the ground, reading it, if it so much as hinted at a romance. I’ll wander off any path if doing so leads me to a book.

I started Ruby’s Reads last year, mainly from a desire to be part of the book blogosphere. I’d been lurking for quite a while and thought I might as well have a go at participating. It’s been fun, frustrating and exhilarating all at once. My biggest challenge so far was making the jump from Wordpress to Blogger. You’ll be glad to know that my hair has begun to grow back from that experience. When I’m not reading or blogging, I’m usually doing one of three things: teaching (my day job), cooking (one of my recurring fantasies is owning a cupcake shop called Rubycakes), or chatting with a friend at a coffee shop (off the beaten track coffee shops are another obsession). I also have a darling, six-month old niece who is the current love of my life. Someday, I hope to be able to say that about a grown man. But, given the nature of my reading philosophy, I bet you’d already guessed that.

I want to thank Rachel at Parajunkee’s View for featuring my blog this week! I was thrilled to be chosen. I hope you’ll all stop by my blog. Hopefully, you’ll see something that interests you enough to come back again. Yes, that was a hint.

What is your favorite romance hero-type? Stereotype wise. Do you like the strong silent type or the brute macho man?

I hate to say it, but I like my men big, tough and a little bit on the aggressive side. That's why I like those shifter boys -- compared to the emo-sensitive vamps. (The BDB boys --- well those are the perfect vampires)

Now for the Follow Fun!

To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:
  1. Follow the Follow My Book Blog Friday Host { Parajunkee.com } and any one else you want to follow on the list
  2. Follow our Featured Bloggers - http://www.rubysreads.com
  3. Put your Blog name & URL in the Linky thing.
  4. Grab the button up there and place it in a post, this post is for people to find a place to say hi in your comments
  5. Follow Follow Follow as many as you can, as many as you want, or just follow a few. The whole point is to make new friends and find new blogs. Also, don't just follow, comment and say hi. Another blogger might not know you are a new follower if you don't say "HI"
  6. If someone comments and says they are following you, be a dear and follow back. Spread the Love...and the followers
  7. If you want to show the link list, just follow the link below the entries and copy and paste it within your post!
  8. If you're new to the follow friday hop, comment and let me know, so I can stop by and check out your blog!

Happy Follow Friday!

Follow it up with your twitter address if you want to get that one out!

That is what I said on my post. I do not like the nice guys I need a bit of the bad boy, someone tough and aggressive. You know someone challenging, nice guys would get boring.

Thanks for an awesome HOP, I am here every week.

I like the new linky!

Since I'm a guy, I couldn't really relate to the question, but I did give an answer about my favorite heroine.

HI,I am new at this and I was hopping by following the 18 & Over Blog Tag along over at Bitten By Paranormal Romance and I kept noticing your Tag on several of the blogs so I had to click on it and follow along. I am so glad I did. You have an awesome blog.

My favorite genre is Paranormal Erotic Romance and I love men who are strong and tender. I love a man who treats women as equals and isn't afraid to take charge but doesn't mind to let the woman take charge occasionally.

Agreed, love those shifter boys too! I'm hooked on shifter books right now, can't get enough.

Love your blog like a fat kid loves cake, lol. But seriously, I do!

I just got back into the world of reading and just put together my first blog (pats herself on the back). Check it out if you have some time-would love your opinion. It's not much yet, but it's getting there.

Hi! This is my first FF, and I think your blog is great! Love your design.

I love heroes who are mad, bad, and dangerous to know, and as a writer, that love always finds its way into my stories, no matter what sub genre of romance I write.

Have a great one!
