Happy Follow Friday everyone! Let me tell you a little bit about this HOP. Every friday or really Thursday evening we all get together and say HI! But, we need to know how to find you, so please leave your link in the Mr. Linky below. Also on Follow Friday we have a Feature...because alliteration is the way we roll. Each week is a different feature from the book blogging community. They are picked randomly or I give in after multiple harassing emails. Just depends on the week. Al @ Magnet 4 Books

Hi! My name is Al. I am 22 years old (23 next month!), and I'm a junior in college. I'm majoring in Psychology, and minoring in creative writing. My love for reading started at a VERY early age, and has only grown since, which led me to my love of writing. Although I'm going to school to be a therapist, I still have this *dream* to be published one day!

I have been blogging for ABOUT a month and a half, but have been very fortunate to have everyone's awesome support! I have met so many awesome people through blogging! When I decided to start my blog, I'd just finished Hex Hall, and I desperately needed someone to talk to about it. But, even after i talked (a little) about it to a blogger I'd been following, it wasn't enough! I had more to say! So, with that my blog was born! I still can't get over how amazing people have been! My favorite author is Sarah Dessen, but I have MANY favorite books! (Hunger Games, Hex Hall, Delirium, etc.) I'm currently reading Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins, and I am LOVING it. It is so adorable!  I review MOSTLY YA with the occasional adult fiction. I'm not too picky on the genre of YA, but lately I am really loving dystopian novels (as you can see from my current favorite books!)

Q. Circle time! Time to share. What character in a book would you most like to be, what character in a book would you most like to date?

I'll stick to the a couple I adore. I want to be Mac when I grow up --- and put my hands on Barrons. Is that predictable?

Monica @ The Bibliophilic Book Blog

I started blogging around a year ago because I didn't see any blogs out there that liked what I liked. There were specific ones for YA and specific ones for adults but not one that catered to adults who also loved to read YA and then....The Bibliophilic Book Blog was born. I basically just blog what I would want to see or to know. I love hearing from my readers and I love suggestions on how to improve and make my blog better.

I love romance, classical literature, YA, science fiction, fantasy, memoirs, and pretty much anything else except westerns and religious fiction. I am very open to trying anything and always love to discover new authors. Some of my favorites are Marion Zimmer Bradley, Charlaine Harris, Helen Hollick, Jacqueline Carey, Kelley Creagh, Nalini Singh, Jane Austen and Julie Kagawa.

I love to blog and I do it mainly in my free time (I work full time for the US Army) and I also enjoy writing a little bit. I love the smell of crayola crayons, old books, and I have an extensive collection of Arthurian Legend books. I have two dogs, a cat, and a husband who allows me to spend as much as I want on books (as long as I buy him some too).

While growing up I have always had a love of reading. My favorite place to hang out was the library along with getting ice cream.

My blog started out as a family blog but once I was able to get some books from the publisher, my blog became more public and I have been doing book reviews since that time. I've always been recommending books to my friends or letting friends borrow from my library of books. I like to read a variety of books, but since reading Twilight -- I have been reading more young adult novels since I have a tween. I also wanted to know what books my daughter will be reading.

Being online and finding other blogs -- I have been introduced to new authors, more book boyfriends, and made some lasting friendships through blogging.

If you have, or would have a daughter, what book would you want your daughter to read?

Me, personally, I have a list of books that I've already begun reading to my daughter. Including the Anne of Green Gables series, A Wind in the Door, Little Women...the list goes on and on!

I've had my blog for awhile, maybe a couple years? But once I had my son I kind of just stopped for a year. Once he turned one I started again and I haven't looked back! I love it! And it seems like I've made it my job. I may not get paid, but it's as important to me as going to work!

I'm a mother of two children, 5 and 18 months, and I work part time out of the home as a home health caregiver for the elderly. I spend my time reading, blogging (duh!) and I love to travel and explore. I live near Portland Oregon and Powells bookstore is my favorite place to go. I try to go to at least one book signing a month and I love to garden (though you can't tell by my yard right now). My favorite series is Kushiel's Legacy trilogies by Jacqueline Carey but lately have been really into YA. I review A LOT of YA, but also paranormal, urban fantasy and some historical fiction. I occasionally have another genre thrown in there as well. I'm pretty eclectic and love a lot of different genre's.

Hi there! My name is Amanda and I am a lover of all things mysterious, passionate, and enchanting. I absolutely could not live without a little romance, fantasy, and PICKLES! Yumm. My favorite genres are paranormal, fantasy, romance, and some thriller/mystery. Outside of reading I enjoy watching anime and playing Final Fantasy and other fantasy-esque video games.

I have been a book addict since first grade and I will never forget my first book, Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. From there my hunger for good reads has budded into creating my blog. I have had many blogs in my day, some about video games and some about silly love poems that I've written. I have always kept a journal of what I have read and what I thought about what I read, but never thought to share it with anyone until on day when I happened across a YouTube video of a teenage boy sharing what he thought about books he recently read, and from there I just took my written journal about books I've read and began documenting on a blog.

Let's take a peek at what makes Nymfaux tick...
About me… At first, I kinda didn’t get blogging…I moved last April, and I was feeling the itch to get back to my creative side. I'm originally a mid-western girl, who's been transplanted in California. I have a B.A. in writing. And aside from my obsession with reading, I also like to travel, hike, take pictures, and embroider. After moving to CA, I started playing around with the idea of a blog, and then an actual blog…but I didn’t really know where I was going (that’s a big theme in my life—I’m extremely geographically challenged and get lost a lot!!!).

But then one day, I read a book (LIFTED by Wendy Toliver)—An absolutely AMAZING FANTASTIC GORGEOUS book, that I had to TELL somebody about. And that’s when I GOT IT—That’s when I really started blogging. Lately, I’ve kind of been on a YA kick, and that’s mostly what I blog about. But I also read just about everything else and watch tons of movies (that’s an understatement)(seriously, I have three pages on my blog devoted to all the movies I’ve ever watched)—I guess I’m just naturally drawn to anything with a good story.

Lisa & Stephanie are the brains behind Once Upon a Chapter...here is a little something about their blog.

Once Upon a Chapter was co-created by Lisa and Stephanie so that we could have a place dedicated to our shared passion: the written word. Both of us love to read as much as we can and through our blog we hope to inspire readers to pick up a great book and share it with others they know. We will review and recommend books that we ourselves have enjoyed, yet are not afraid to disclose which books you might not want to try! We review new releases and also any classics that you may have missed, or want to pick up again. Basically, we try to make our site a fun place for everyone to read about and discuss our favorite subject: Books!
We love to read anything in the romance genre. Both of us try to read a little bit of everything, such as mainstream fiction, but our main focus is on romance novels. We read historical romance, romantic suspense/mystery, paranormal romance and contemporary romance. In other words, if it has a hero and a heroine...we’ll read it!

Hi Missie...tell us a bit about your reading addiction...

As a kid, I read all the time, and I was even a 'library helper,' you know, where you get to school early just to help put books back in their place. I remember being so proud to have been picked for the job from a group of willing volunteers.  But in high school and college, I lost touch with reading for pleasure; if it wasn't 'required reading' I didn't have time for it.  There was even a period in my life when I was studying so much that I actually considered reading as being stressful.  Once I finished my graduate degree, I wanted a break from anything having to do with words on paper.  But slowly, I started picking up books again.  All kinds of books, a variety of genres, and I realized how much I missed reading and how much I enjoyed it. 

After that, I felt so unread and decided I wanted to do something about it.  So I jumped back into reading with a renewed passion by joining a local book club and even taking some literature courses.  Now that I've learned more, I feel like there is nothing I won't try when it comes to genres.  Yes, I love and probably even favor PNR and UF, but I also really like non fiction, contemporary, YA, mystery, humor, and of course, I can't forget the classics.  Now it feels like with each book I read, I'm developing relationships with stories, some meaningful, some as a passing fancy, and I'm loving it!

Why Steph Loves The Paranormal...

Fantasy allows us to explore parts of ourselves we normally keep under wraps for a variety of reasons.  It allows us to escape everyday life for something better, hotter, more adventurous, etc. I like to read fantasy, PNR and UF and see movies/TV of the same, like Twilight or True Blood (not horror though – for horror I watch the news).

But, I also want to understand the rules of the genre, and the basis for what is written.  The assorted creatures are thrilling and have had common characteristics as long as people have been writing them.  I like looking at those variables. I also love finding some fun news, a photo, or a video clip. But, I am not a teenager and as such I see these thing differently.  I do my news, comments and reviews from an adult POV.  Sometimes fantasy helps me remember what it was like to be a teen, or it helps me understand younger people, or why kids are so drawn to a book or film, and sometimes it is just fun, hot and steam

On another note, inspired by a song, and the fact that I have been wanting to give my avatar a bit of depth, instead of the flat vector that it has been...I've redone my blog.  Please let me know what you think, honestly.  Also if it is loading slow. I think my internet is acting quirky...or I hope it is because everything is loading slow for me tonight. There is a poll in the sidebar if you would like to be anonymous.
